Vale Daphne Pease

Daphne has been an active member of the Choral society since 1952, taking part in concerts, productions and Eisteddfodau. As soon as she joined the Society, Daphne became involved with helping the then Secretary with various tasks and was still carrying out these tasks 50 years on. Daphne served as a Committee member from 1969 - 1985 and assisted with all the society's activities. In 1983-4 she became Acting Treasurer and in 1984-2001 and 2003-2010 has carried out the position of Treasurer. She always looked after the Society's accounting in a most professional way, ensuring the Society remained financially viable.

Daphne was made a Life Member of the Society in 1998.

Awards won, along side husband Brian, include:

1994 - Townsville City Council Arts, Culture and Entertainment Award.
1999 - Townsville City Council Arts, Culture and Entertainment Lifetime Achievement Award
2001 - Recognized by Townsville City Council with a Civic Reception.

Daphne was a well respected member of the society. Many have said she was like family to them. Daphne was a kind and caring Mother, Wife and friend to many. Daphne's long years of dedicated work for the Society have made it possible for our many members to grow and develop as performers and has brought much joy to Townsville audiences throughout the years.

She will be sadly missed and going into the Society hall without her presence will take a lot of getting used to.
